What We Can (and Can’t) Help With

AVI Customs Brokers is a U.S.-licensed Customs brokerage, which means we can only clear live animals arriving into the United States.

If you’re exporting your pet out of the U.S., you’ll need a customs broker in the country where your pet is landing. Each country has its own customs authority, and brokers must be licensed locally to clear imports.

If you need help finding a trusted agent overseas, we recommend visiting International Pet and Animal Transportation Association (IPATA). Most professional pet shippers worldwide work closely with licensed customs brokers in their destination country.

Important Note for Returning to the U.S.

If you’re leaving the U.S. for a high-risk rabies country and plan to return later with your pet, additional steps are required before you depart.

This typically includes extra veterinary documentation and USDA endorsements through United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).

Entry requirements can change, so we always recommend reviewing the most current guidance directly from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
